Teresa has been working in the legal profession for more than 35 years, with over 30 years’ experience as a fee earner and has been a qualified Chartered Legal Executive for more than 26 years. Teresa specialises in advising, assisting and representing parents, grandparents and wider family members with matters relating to child protection (care) proceedings, public law outline procedures, Special Guardianship Orders and Adoption and has a wealth of experience in this area. Teresa has expertise in representing vulnerable clients and dealing with complex cases, including cases which require fact finding hearings and where allegations of non accidental injury have been made.
Teresa has previously taken up voluntary posts with the Southampton Domestic Violence Forum and the Equal Opportunities Committee of Southampton City Council representing women’s interests.
In addition to her work at Footner and Ewing, Teresa is also a Trustee and Treasurer of Abby’s Heroes which is a charity founded in 2016 to help and support children and their families on the Piam Brown Ward and Teenage and Young Adults Ward in Southampton General Hospital following the harsh reality of a diagnosis of childhood cancer.
