Teresa has been working in the legal profession for more than 35 years, with over 30 years’ experience as a fee earner and has been qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive for more than 27 years.
Teresa specialises in advising, assisting and representing parents, grandparents and wider family members in matters relating to child protection (care) proceedings, public law outline procedures, Special Guardianship Orders and has a wealth of experience specifically in the areas of child abuse. Teresa specialises in cases with complex medical issues, also relating to non-accidental injuries, physical and sexual abuse allegations. Teresa has regularly managed cases in which King’s Counsel have been appointed due to areas of medical evidence in dispute and high volume of conflicting evidence available.
Teresa also has vast experience representing vulnerable adults with additional needs.
Teresa has previously taken up voluntary posts with the Southampton Domestic Violence Forum and the Equal Opportunities Committee of Southampton City Council representing women’s interests.
In addition, Teresa has also held a voluntary post of Treasurer and Trustee of Abby’s Heroes, a charity founded in 2016 supporting children and their families on the Piam Brown and Teenage and Young Adults Ward in Southampton General Hospital following the harsh reality of a diagnosis of childhood cancer.
