Residential Conveyancer 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Residential Property Conveyancing Solicitor or Residential Property Conveyancing Legal Executive or Licensed Conveyancer to join this Firm’s residential property conveyancing department.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3+ years pqe however, these are guidelines only and aptitude, an appetite for hard work and aspiration to progress are the main requirements.  The role will be supported by an established secretarial support team.

You will be responsible for dealing with both standard and complex residential sales and purchases, re-mortgage, transfer of equity and new build properties and must be able to hit the ground running from the offset.

This role will give you the opportunity to join an office that deals with a good quality of work as the residential property department is very well regarded in the local area and has long standing established relationships with the local Estate Agents. This Firm will give you a fantastic opportunity to build your career in the residential property sector and support your development.

Legal Administration Support Vacancy

A friendly Southampton firm of solicitors offering a paralegal/legal secretary position assisting the criminal department. The successful candidate to work for three separate criminal fee earners. The position ideally would suit a candidate who is seeking a career within the law with an opportunity for progression.

Job description: –

  • Document logging and retrieval from case management system Osprey in addition CJSM and the Crown Court Case Management System.
  • File opening and closing on the case management system.
  • Conflict of interest checks.
  • Copying/scanning duties.
  • Post/DX duties.
  • Banking as requested.
  • Audio/copy typing.
  • Drafting emails to clients, counsel, chambers, and court as and when required.
  • Billing for police and magistrates court work.
  • Taking client’s initial details and liaising with fee earners in respect of allocation of cases.
  • To provide first point of contact for clients who have their liberty curtailed.
  • To work towards progression and development of role within the criminal department.

Requirements: –

  • Accuracy
  • Good telephone manner
  • Typing skills
  • Administrative skills – knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook and Word.

The successful applicant will ideally have:

• Experience working in a law firm ideally with knowledge of working within a private client department

  • Confident and understanding telephone manner handling telephone enquiries from clients and third parties;
    • Be able to audio and copy type;
    • Be proficient with Outlook, Word and preferably Excel;
  • Experience with Lexis Nexis Smart Forms would be an advantage but not essential.
